Complete BotSong guide
1. Start a song
Enter a musical description in French. Choose duration, tempo, style, key and track count automatically or manually. BotSong generates a coherent structure, harmony and arrangement.
2. Use inspiration MIDI
Import several .mid/.midi files, give them weights or let BotSong balance them. Strict mode preserves degrees and structures closely; free mode develops a new corpus-inspired arrangement. Quantization is adjustable.
3. Regenerate without losing essentials
Request another version while independently keeping genre, key, tempo, chords, added melodies and lyrics. You can preserve or renew density and track count.
4. Edit structure and harmony
Create or edit sections, verses, choruses, bridges and repetitions. Change chords and subdivisions in each measure, apply local meters, keys, modes, tempos and modulations. Import or export structure as JSON.
5. Work on the arrangement
The timeline displays every track and note. Seek through the song, add a melody track, open the piano roll, edit pitch, position, length and velocity, and reharmonize notes against the chord grid.
6. Control density
Set global automatic instrumental density or adjust the activity of each track and measure. BotSong keeps the karaoke voice continuous while creating breathing room in the backing.
7. Add lyrics
Write lyrics inside sections. Hyphens split a sung word over notes; slashes force a complete word onto one note and disappear from export. The vocal melody can be aligned automatically.
8. Play and mix
Listen through the General MIDI SoundFont engine, seek on the timeline, solo or mute tracks, change track volumes and adjust vocals and backing separately. Full-screen karaoke follows syllables and shows a pre-vocal countdown.
9. Save projects
The library stores the complete project, settings, MIDI corpus, structure, tracks and mix. Autosave, startup restoration and Undo/Redo history protect edits. Portable .botsong files can be exported.
10. Export
MIDI .mid: multitrack arrangement with tempo, key, meter and mix. KAR .kar: karaoke MIDI with synchronized syllabic lyrics. WAV: audio render. JSON: structure and chord grid. Free access limits only MID and KAR to 15 seconds; the €29.99 lifetime purchase makes them unlimited.
